Working in an in-house design studio for the marketing department of a big retail company I create a lot of emails. We always have to keep it fresh for our email file. And our current seasonal campaign style/look always shines through. Animation garners a lot of click-throughs so I find ways to use them whenever I can. Given some file size limitations, I have to be a bit creative on how they are built.
